Arsenal put in an excellent display to blow Southampton away 6-1 at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

The home side lead 4-1 at half time after a superb opening 45 minutes of exhibition football from the Gunners. Good work from Podolski and Gibbs lead to an own goal for the first after just 10 minutes. Podolski then made it 2-0 with a superb free kick before Gervinho fired home for 3-0.

A Gibbs cross was then turned into his own net by Clyne before Szczesny gifted the visitors a consolation after spilling a routine cross, Fox on hand to hammer home for 4-1.

Gervinho then got his second midway through the second half after Ramsey hit the post and Walcott made it 6-1 late on with a neat left footed finish.
