Arsenal produced a stunning performance to thrash Southampton 6-1 at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon. While picking a Man of the Match was a tough task with Gervinho, Arteta, Gibbs and Cazorla all catching the eye but Lukas Podolski was another who put in an excellent all-round display.

Hot off the back of his goal at Anfield last time out, the German forward scored his first goal at the Emirates with a stunning 30-yard free-kick and was at the heart of a lot of Arsenal’s positive play. Watch individual highlights of his performance here:

Podolski was excellent for us, ball winning, exsecuting killer passes, and of course that free kick! More than impressed with the man but of course the rest of the lads are equally gelling brilliantly! I feel really positive at the moment. First time in a while! COYG!

Its a good thing to have podolski who can take free kick at d back of d net. The work rate of Gibbs, Gervinho & Cazorla help in d thrashing of saint. Gibbs MODM

Arsenal finally put in a dominating show. It will be interesting to see where they go from here. I’m still pegging them for 3rd at the best, but probably 4th.
