Brazilian starlet Bruno Gomes is desperate to complete his protracted move to Manchester United and has set his sights on becoming an Old Trafford legend, according to talkSPORT.
The 16-year-old striker – who is a member of Desportivo Brasil academy side, has been training with United ahead of a potential move to Manchester.
Gomes is currently top goalscorer in the Sao Paulo under-17 State Championship and has been watched by a whole host of scouts in recent months. However, Man Utd are favourites to land the highly-rated hitman and their partnership with Desportivo has proven to be key in negotiations.
As part of the agreement, United can have their pick of the talent in the academy side in Sao Paulo and bring them to England for a trial. Gomes has been brought over for assessment and it seems he’s ready to take his opportunity to seal a move to United and want’s to go on and become a legend at Old Trafford.
“My goal is to become top scorer in the [Premier] league, being the first Brazilian to do so, while also to be English champion and to win the Champions League.”
Gomes is quoted as telling reports by talkSPORT
When asked about his meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson, Gomes said:
“It was nice. He is a legend in Manchester, where everybody respects him and to be close to him was great.
“In fact, he only asked about my position and if I spoke English. Then he talked with the club representative who took me to Manchester.”
