[Video Highlights] Chelsea 2-3 Man Utd: Hernandez Settles Controversial Thriller

By  Published: 28th October 2012

Manchester United closed the gap on league leaders Chelsea to just one point as substitute Javier Hernandez netted the winner in a thrilling clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

United raced into a 2-goal lead thanks to a Luiz own goal and a Robin van Persie effort, but Chelsea got themselves back in the game just before half time when Juan Mata curled home a sumptuous free-kick to make it 2-1.

The Blues then levelled through Ramires before the game turned to controversy with several decisions going United’s way. First Branislav Ivanovic was sent off for clipping the heels of Ashley Young as the winger raced through on goal but it was the sending off of Fernando Torres that really riled the home side.

The Spaniard was handed a second yellow card for diving with replay’s showing United defender Jonny Evans did in fact make slight contact with the strikers shin. United then won it in controversial circumstances when Hernandez flicked home the winner from close range, with replays showing the striker was slightly offside.

If FA does nothing about d officiating, then FA actually fixed the match and EPL becomes a mess. This cannot happen in Nigerian league. If it happens, the ref will be sure of leaving with parts of his body cos security men cannot save him
