Long-term Chelsea target Radamel Falcao has ruled out leaving Atletico Madrid insisting he has no desire to move any time soon, according to talkSPORT.

The European Champions have been strongly linked with the prolific hitman in recent months and were expected to make an official move this January.

Atletico are desperate to hang on to their star man and are planning to offer the 26-year-old a new deal in order to secure his long-term future.

Falcao has now moved to quash rumours he’s looking to leave the Spanish capital, insisting he has no desire to leave Madrid any time soon.

“I do not leave the club at this moment. I’ve never thought of [leaving]. I do not have that desire in my head.”

Falcao is quoted as saying by talkSPORT

However, the former Porto striker did provide Chelsea with some hope claiming several factors outside his control will determine his long-term future. He continued:

“I do not know what will happen tomorrow and it does not depend on me. My continuity here next season depends on the needs of the club and certain results. There are many factors to take into account. What I can say is that I am very happy.”

Falcao has become one of the world’s most feared strikers since joining Madrid from Porto in 2011 and has continued his sensational goal-scoring record by hitting 49 goals in just 59 games for the La Liga outfit.

This is exactly the type of front man Roberto Di Matteo is looking for, with current striker Fernando Torres continuing to struggle at Stamford Bridge, but it seems the Blues may have to wait a little longer if they want to sign the prolific Columbian.
