[Teams] Schalke vs Arsenal: Confirmed Line-ups

By on November 6, 2012

Arsenal are in Germany for their Champions League clash with Schalke needing a win to take control of Group B.

The Gunners slipped to second after a shock 2-0 defeat to the Germans at the Emirates a fortnight ago, so another defeat tonight will leave the Londoners qualification hopes hanging in the balance.

Boss Arsene Wenger has dropped defender Andre Santos after a string of disappointing performances. Thomas Vermaelen moves to left back with Laurent Koscielny coming in to play alongside Per Mertesacker in the middle.

Theo Walcott is passed fit to play despite going down with a stomach bug over the past few days, and he supports Giroud and Podolski in attack. Here are the confirmed line-ups.

Schalke Team

Unnerstall, Howedes, Uchida, Fuchs, Matip, Holtby, Jones, Neustadter, Afellay, Farfan, Huntelaar

Subs: Hildebrand, Papadopoulous, Kolasinac, Hoger, Moritz, Draxler, Marica

Arsenal Team

Mannone, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Arteta, Wilshere, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud, Walcott.

Subs: Shea, Santos, Djourou, Jenkinson, Coquelin, Arshavin, Chamakh.
