Tottenham are facing something of an injury crisis ahead of their trip across north London to face rivals Arsenal on Saturday with several first team players struggling to be fit, according to the Daily Mail.

Boss Andre Villas-Boas is sweating on the fitness of Kyle Walker, Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon ahead of the game, with all three facing a race against time to be fit in time to play at the Emirates.

The trio all suffered hamstring injuries during the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City last Sunday which ruled them out of tonight’s England friendly in Sweden. All three will be assessed on Thursday before a decision is made as to whether they will be included in the squad to face the Gunners.

Walker’s right hamstring was heavily strapped for the game at the Etihad last weekend and the right back was forced off towards the end of the game after aggravating the problem. Defoe and Lennon have both been carrying slight hamstring strains in recent weeks, with Lennon also withdrawn against City and subsequently ruled out of the England game.

Defoe’s injury is thought to be the least serious but he’s still considered a doubt for Saturday’s north London derby.

To compound Spurs’ misery, the Mail claim key midfielder Mousa Dembele is unlikely to play after missing the last six weeks with a long-term hip injury that he aggravated while on international duty in early October.

The club decided against surgery two weeks ago and while the midfielder is now close to full fitness, he’s unlikely to be risked with Spurs set to face Lazio, West Ham and Liverpool following the game with Arsenal.

Younes Kaboul, Scott Parker and Benoit Assou-Ekotto remain on the injury-list so Tottenham could go into the game on Saturday without seven first team players.
