Chelsea Ace: It Would Be Great For Falcao To Join Chelsea
Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, David Luiz wants Radamel Falcao to join him at Chelsea.
Chelsea defender David Luiz has called for Atletico Madrid hitman Radamel Falcao to join him at Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Mail.
The Brazilian stopper came face-to-face with the Columbian striker as the two nations played out a 1-1 draw in New Jersey on Wednesday night.
Luiz did well to keep Falcao reasonably quiet during the game but that didn’t stop the 25-year-old declaring afterwards that he’d love to see the Atletico Madrid man join him in West London sometime soon.
‘I’m happy when there are great names attached to Chelsea. He’s a great player.
‘It would be a good choice for Falcao to come to Chelsea. All of the players would be happy because he would be a great player.’
Luiz is quoted as saying after the match by the Daily Mail
The 26-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks with with speculation suggesting boss Roberto Di Matteo could be set to replace £50m flop Fernando Torres.
The Spaniard has struggled to find his past form since making his big-money move to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool in January 2011 and has only managed 19 goals in 85 appearances so far. Compare that to Falcao who has been in sensational form since making the move to Ateltico from Porto in 2011, and has scored 49 goals in just 60 games for the Spanish outfit.
Speaking earlier in the week, the player himself admitted he dreams of moving to the Premier League:
‘The chance of playing in another league and for another club will come. I keep dreaming. I know that in time I would like to go to a different team. But I have three more years left on my contract with Atletico.
‘The dream is always there. The Premier League is an interesting league but I have a few years left on my contract with Atletico and I’m just focusing on Atletico.’

Could Chelsea replace Torres with Falcao this January? It’s seems a distinct possibility at this point and should they pull it off, a front line-up of Mata, Oscar, Hazard and Falcao would be a mouth-watering proposition.
