Huntelaar Wants ‘Dream’ £6m Arsenal Move

By on November 25, 2012

Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is once again linked with a move to Arsenal.

Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar

Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar wants to seal a £6m move to Arsenal this January now that Robin van Persie has left the club, according to the Daily Mail.

The Dutch hitman is in the final year of his contract with Schalke and is set to move after being unable to agree terms over a new deal, and the Bundesliga club are ready to cash in now rather than lose him for nothing in the summer.

Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs who’ve been strongly linked with a move for the 29-year-old, with the German outfit confirming scouts from the Premier League duo have attended matches in recent weeks to run-the-rule over the striker.

However, the Mail claim Huntelaar ‘dreams’ of playing for Arsenal but has always feared a move would never be sealed while international team-mate Robin van Persie was at the club. It’s claimed that the Holland strikers don’t get on too well and Huntelaar felt this would kill any chance of the Gunners signing him.

But with van Persie now at Manchester United and Huntelaar available at a cut price due to his precarious contract situation, a move is now firmly on the cards for the prolific hitman.

Ex-Holland striker Erik Meyer, who’s agent Arnold Oosterveer is also Huntelaar’s agent, recently claimed the former AC Milan and Real Madrid man is set to move this winter and suggested Arsenal were favourites to land him.

‘According to the information I have, Huntelaar will be gone in the winter. Arsenal are the favourites.’

Meyer is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admitted last week that he wants to sign a striker when the window re-opens, as he’ll be left short of attacking options with Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh heading off to the African Cup of Nations, and Huntelaar is high on the Frenchman’s wish list.

However, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is also a huge fan of the Dutchman’s and is also in the market for a forward this winter due to his over-reliance on Luis Suarez for goals this season.

I don’t think he’d solve our problems. Giroud is not as good a pure goalscorer, but just as good a CF overall imo and I can’t see them both playing together. The problem is with the wingers; when they’re on form, we look a quality side, but when they have an off-day we look a very poor side, like yesterday.
Huntelaar would be a useful signing for any side, but he won’t change much on his own. He’s probably even more reliant on good service than Giroud to score goals; Olivier is better at dropping deep and linking play, more capable of turning average passes into something useful, from what I’ve seen.

        the problem is when attacking
giroud is always faces his own players.
his not facing the goal so someone can play a through ball to him.
his a CF how players with his back to goal and that is not how we as a team play.

when you look back at last year v perise was always making those runs and a though ball and it would be simple.

The final piece of an awkward Jigsaw but if Wenger gets his Man and that man being Huntelaar. Then the Jigsaw will be completed for that is all we are missing.
Maybe two bits really are needed to keep the jigsaw together !!
Huntelaar and Yann Villa and the squad would be unstoppable !!
with Giourd making his name and hitting form and Huntelaar pushing him all the way or even getting the nod over giourd and in turn making Giourd catch up !! Midfield General is needed for some big games !! and other Games Arteta can be rested !! or Played along side Yann !! we would have so many options !!
Two players then Dominate !! not much really to ask for !! £6 million for Huntelaar and £17 million maybe £13 million if we play our cards right !! £20 million more to bring our Arsenal Back !!

we need a more mvilla type player.

this year our midfiled is week
i cant really remember us dominating the midfiled like we used to.

arteta is too good of a passer to be playing in his own half.

alot of teams just know arteta wont be hard to push they just attack us though the middle.

Doesn’t matter if we sign him or not it will not make any difference. Arsenal will still be just a 4th place team without trophies until wenger leaves. So might as well stick with what we’ve got. No point wasting the money

common Wenger, sign HUNTELAAR. He is competing with van Persie for top Holland spot, and so he would also be a huge competitor for RvP in the English Premiership (Arsenal vs ManU). The guy is very good too, and cost is not much. Please Wenger do this for us fans who believe in your technical skills of soccer.

    we most likely get him.
his very very cheap and he wants to leave his club.

his good but his not a safe bet.
his been at madrid, ac milan and it never worked out for him there.

and his not much diffrent to giroud.

Sorry, I didn’t realise the grammar police were out on duty today.

We will most likely get him.
He’s very cheap and he wants to leave his club.

He’ good, but isn’t a safe bet.
He’s been at both Madrid and AC Milan and it never worked out for him there.

Also, he’s not much different to Giroud.

*Also if we’re being pedantic, shouldn’t your comment be: Surely you mean “he’s” as in he is, or he has… It can’t be all “his”.*

I pray that Wenger is going to secure a link move for Huntelaar, because he can really help out for a good team work & plan.

If Arsenal sign Huntelaar I really hope Liverpool go after Cavani who’s a better all round player..faster & stronger also younger but would cost a lot more.

I’d love cavani but that is fantasy. Huntelaar at 6mill > 24mill rvp; it should be a no brainer. M’villa would be a great addition. Likely, we get adrian who isn’t exactly spectacular up front. He is younger and he could improve. Chamakh, gervinho, arshavin, santos, possibly walcott out. I’d like demba ba, benzema, cavani, ben afra but we’ll likely gamble with another 55,000 per week player for 1 goal all season. The good news is chamakh got some partying in!

Did you see the reading vs arsenal capital one game what chamakh and giroud did to the opposition imagine chamakh being replaced by Huntelaar, the pace of walcott and the aerial dominance of giroud and Huntelaar will be enough to unsettle defenses. we must play with 2 upfront against teams like villa and Norwich and we can play the traditional 451 against the likes of Man u and man city.

4me i still think diferent the problem is not much to striker but the big problem is midfielders we don’t have creative midfielder only Carzola. look when there is Ramsay the team is weak he poor and he don’t deceive to be Arsenal player.

Huntelaar has something to prove! Giroud came from the French League as Top Goalscorer, and has no national-team mate – rival!

Huntelaar won’t completely solve all our problems but he is a necessary role we need to fill.

Huntelaar would be immense at Arsenal. I rate Podolski and Giroud highly, however I have no confidence in either becoming a 30 goal a season man like Thierry Henry or Robin van Persie, while Huntelaar would always be near the top of the goalscoring charts.

Personally I can’t see it happening as I don’t think Wenger rates him as highly as others, but i’ll be crossing my fingers that it does.

Would be a really good signing in my opinion, i think hes a better CF than giroud (i dont rate giroud anyway). I agree also about the m’vila signing someone said, would give strength to the midfield and protection to the defence, something arteta and wilshere dont do
    Imagine this team
    Szczesny
    Sagna koscielny vermaelen gibbs
    M’vila wilshere
    Cazorla
    Walcott huntelaar chamberlain
    Subs
Mannone mertesacker diaby arteta rosicky podolski giroud

It would be a good one if AW signs him but my big question is: is lack of goals our only problem now?

I don’t trust the frenchman man arsen wenger with money.
imagine how he didn’t sign zhlatan ibrahimovic for £3m in 2001.

    1. Arsenal needs a defensive mid fielder to release Arteta to help Carzola in penetrating the opponents defence as Jack is just coming from injury.

    2. If they get Hunterlaar, that is ok with Thiery on loan the attack will be complete and with their age its ok as there are a lot of young strikers in the team from 2 years time to take on from there in Campbell, Walcott if he remain and others on loan and reserve.

    3. The left or Vermo cover is needed as Gibbs can’t be relied on with his injuries and a number of games ahead, Santos is too slow, he has some how lost it like Arsharvin. Kosc is a right central defender who can’t perfectly cover Vermo in case he covers (3) Gibbs that is why he keeps on scoring own goals in the process of using his right leg to clear a ball that necessitates a left leg.

Finally with such a move, Arsenal will be a danger to any opponet on the planent.

huntelaar would be a great buy, we need a real goal shark
