The agent of Vitesse Arnham striker Wilfried Bony claims Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in signing the player this January, according to Sky Sports News.

The 23-year-old has been in superb form so far this season for Vitesse, scoring 15 goals including a strike during Sunday’s 2-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven.

The Ivory Coast international remains under contract with the Dutch outfit until 2015, but that hasn’t stopped him being linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks with Chelsea and Liverpool said to be weighing-up January bids for the powerful forward.

Bony’s agent, Dalibor Lacina, has now confirmed the English duo have been in touch about his client but claims it’s 50-50 whether he’ll leave Vitesse this winter or remain in Holland until the summer.

“Liverpool are one of the clubs who have been considering him,”

“We have been in touch with them. Liverpool need a striker to increase their scoring productivity but, on the other hand, it does not mean we are in talks with them. They are just one of the suitors.

“It is clear that Bony has attracted interest thanks to his good performances and scoring efficiency and one of the clubs interested as well are Chelsea.

“It is in the hands of Vitesse whether they agree with Bony’s departure or not. They are at the top of the Dutch league and particularly after the win at PSV there is euphoria in the city.

“Vitesse have certain ambitions and it would be difficult for them to see Bony go. If I had to give my opinion on whether he leaves in January, I see it as 50-50.”

Liverpool are desperate to add another striker to their ranks when the transfer window re-opens due to their over-reliance on Luis Suarez for goals this season.

Chelsea are also understood to be in the market for another forward as Fernando Torres continues to struggle for form at Stamford Bridge, and it appears both clubs have their eye on Eredivisie hot-shot Bony.
