Chelsea Transfer News: Blues To Renew Hamsik Interest
By Football Talk Published: 4th December 2012Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, Chelsea are linked with Marek Hamsik.
Chelsea will renew their interest in Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik when the transfer window opens in January, according to the Daily Express.
The European champions have held a long-running interest in the Slovakian and were linked with a move in the summer before Hamsik committed his future to Napoli.
The Blues are also tracking the 25-year-old’s team-mate Edinson Cavani but the Uruguayan hitman may be out of reach, so Hamsik is seen as a more realistic option.
Hamsik is a creative midfielder who has been an important part of Napoli’s success in recent seasons, scoring 66 goals and bagging 42 assists in his 235 appearances for the club, but he may be ready to move on after nearly six years at the club.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to open the cheque-book once again next month as he looks to save his club’s flagging season, and will try and lure Hamsik to West London.

Should he complete a move to Stamford Bridge, he would face stiff competition to get into the Chelsea midfield having to contend with the likes of Juan Mata, Oscar and Eden Hazard for a starting spot.

Only other position is possibly DM although despite the flack he receives, Mikel is quality there and can work well with Ramires. KTBFFH

Hamsik, or anyone, will not be committed to our club like a person who has been brought up from Chelsea’s youth level. This season, we have spent a billions on players who are most skilled but ironically who cannot even overcome a spirited ‘lesser’ skilled team like west ham, west brom etc. Any other addition like hamsik, scurle, gomez etc will just be expensive and not worthwhile.
Chelsea has only 20 players enrolled this season which is one of the lowest in the league – only because we are spending excessive on ‘world class talents’ who will not bite the bullet for chelsea.
Its high time we dig deep into our academy and get some players who are passionate about chelsea and make the playing XI more passionate instead of spineless talents.
If Chelsea spent billions on players in the summer transfer window,Abramovich and the club would be broke. The owner has a net worth of about almost 20 billion USD. Don’t believe this rumour about Hamsik. Where would he play? We have enough attacking midfielders and this guy can’t play in the pivot.
We don’t need midfielders any longer. I think RA has to go for quality striker like falcao, Gomez and maybe a defender. Even a coach is needed as well as chelsea will not function well under coach Rafa. This is not hatred but a reality.
Let’s get Falcao, Felani and Willian.
Why don’t we get Taison and Bony and sell Torres for 10-15mill.
We won’t be selling big amounts of money because taison and bony are both around the 10 mill mark.
