Chelsea secured their place in the World Club Cup final after beating Monterrey 3-1 on Thursday morning.

Spanish attacker Juan Mata opened the scoring early on before Fernando Torres doubled their lead in the 46th minute with a deflected effort just after the break. The game was over when Chavez put through his own net to make it 3-0 for the Blues before De Nigris grabbed a late consolation for Monterrey. Chelsea will now meet Brazilian side Corinthians in Sunday’s final after the Copa Libertadores winners beat Egypt’s Al-Ahly 1-0 on Wednesday.
