[Video Goals] Reading 2-5 Arsenal: Cazorla Hat-trick Sinks Royals

By  Published: 17th December 2012

Arsenal responded to the shock loss at the hands of Bradford City with a 5-2 win over Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Monday night, with Santi Cazorla bagging a hat-trick.

We took the lead after just 14 minutes when Podolski met Gibbs’ left wing cross, took a touch before firing home from close range for 1-0. Cazorla then got his first just after the half hour mark when he headed home Podolski’s cross before the little Spaniard made it 3-0 shortly after with a neat finish on the turn.

A superb team move ended with Podolski laying it on a plate for Cazorla to get his third, and Arsenal’s fourth, before a sloppy ball from Gibbs allowed Le Fondre to get the home side a foothold in the game at 4-1. The nerves began to creep in when Reading made it 2-4 in the 71st minute through Kebe but Walcott sealed the win with a fifth late on after some excellent work from Cazorla.
