[Video Goals] Southampton 1-1 Arsenal: Gunners Held By Saints

By  Published: 1st January 2013

Arsenal failed to close the gap on the top-four after being held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton at St Mary’s this evening.

The hosts took the lead after a comedy of errors at the back allowed the ball to break to Ramirez who fired home from inside the box. Arsenal levelled just before half time when Theo Walcott’s free kick was turned into his own net by Do Prado. Neither side could find a winner in the second half and the draw leaves Arsenal trailing fourth-placed Chelsea by four points with the Blues having a game in hand.
