The agent of Eduardo Vargas has alerted Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea after revealing the forward is expected to leave Napoli in January, according to talkSPORT.

The report claims the Premier League trio have shown an interest in the Chile international in the past while a move to Brazilian side Sao Paulo has also been suggested.

The striker’s agent, Cristian Ogalde, is quoted by talkSPORT as saying his 23-year-old client is likely to be on the move this month but insists the final decision is down to the Italian outfit.

“I do not know if this is the last we’ll see of Vargas at Napoli,”

“That all depends on the club. It is very likely that he’ll leave though.

“That decision however, is entirely down to them. The player just wants to play again in order to feel important.” Ogalde is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.

Vargas moved to Napoli from Universidad de Chile in 2011 but despite showing some promise in his first season at the club, he has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular this season – making only 9 appearances in Serie A this term and is yet to find the target.

The Chile international has shown his capabilities in the Europa League though, and has scored 3 goals in 6 games so far to help Napoli through to the knockout stages of the competition.

Could Vargas be heading to the Premier League in January? talkSPORT suggest Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool could resurrect their interest but it remains to be seen whether any of the trio make a move for the player or if Napoli even want to sell.

Even if he does come to England, i’m not convinced he has what it takes to be a hit in England. Except for one season in Chile, when he scored 19 goals in 29 games, his career strike-rate is poor (26 goals in 130 games) and we have seen far better strikers than him struggle in the Premier League. Let’s see what the coming weeks bring but I hope the above clubs forget about Vargas.
