M’Vila – Arsenal to renew interest?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is set to renew his interest in Yann M’Vila with the Rennes midfielder now available for a cut-price £7m, according to the Daily Star.

Many Gooners will recall the rumours linking M’Vila with a move to the Emirates in the summer and the report claims we tried sign him but were put off by the £25m valuation Rennes had placed on his head.

However, it appears his valuation has plummeted in recent months and with his contract understood to expire at the end of the season, the Daily Star claims the 22-year-old is now available for just £7m and suggest he could be on his way to the Emirates this month with Wenger set to renew his interest.

The player himself has recently admitted he will be on the move if a suitable offer comes in:

“I am at Rennes at the moment so let’s see what happens.

“If the club receives a good offer and I like the destination then I will go – there is no doubt about that.”

M’Vila is quoted as saying by the Daily Star

M’Vila’s form has suffered this season after a difficult summer at the European championships with France and after a string of disciplinary issues he was banned from international duty until June 2014.

While his talent can not be questioned, his attitude certainly can be but if Arsene Wenger thinks he can tame him, I’m all for us signing the precocious youngster.

I’ve been saying for months that I think we need to sign a powerful, ball-winning midfielder and M’Vila would fit that bill. If the Stars report is accurate and he’s available for just £7m, I think that would represent something of a bargain, so as long as we can control his behavior off the pitch I would love to see the midfielder come to north London this month.
