Chelsea Blow As Falcao Hints He Could Make PSG Move
With the January transfer window now open for business we’ll be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer gossip. Today, are Chelsea set to miss out on Radamel Falcao.
Chelsea could be set to miss out on Radamel Falcao after the Colombian striker revealed his admiration for PSG and hinted he may move to France ‘very soon’, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper claims the Atletico Madrid hitman is a key summer transfer target for Chelsea with the Blues understood to be keen on luring the prolific striker to Stamford Bridge.
However, it seems they may have some serious competition from big-spending Paris St Germain with the Mail reporting that Falcao is impressed with the Ligue 1 outfit’s ambitious project before hinting he may be set for a move to France in the near future.
‘France is a marvellous country,’ he told Telefoot.
‘I’ve been there before, and I love it. PSG have a very ambitious sporting project and they’ve invested a huge amount of money to construct a competitive team. That will need time, but that could come very quickly.
‘It’s not impossible that I could be meeting you [the French media] very soon.’ Falcao is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail
The 26-year-old went on to praise PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and hinting he would be happy to compete with the Swedish international. He added:
‘I’ve followed Zlatan’s path. He’s had an incredible career and he has succeeded in every league in which he has played. He is fantastic. He has scored a lot of goals.
‘I like being able to compete with this kind of player. But me main objective is to excel and be even better every day.’ Falcao is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail
Falcao is one of the deadliest strikers in Europe and has scored 21 goals in just 19 appearances for Madrid this season, so he would be an excellent signing if Chelsea could pull it off.

But judging by his comments, Falcao may have his eye on a move to France. Let’s be honest, Ligue 1 is hardly the most glamorous league and is nowhere near the standard of the Premier League, so if he does chose a move to PSG, surely it would be for the money?
I’d be shocked if a player like Falcao ended up in France but Ibrahimovic moved there, so you never know, he might get a new strike partner in the summer.
