TRANSFER TALK: Spurs lining up last ditch deal

Scott Parker and Robbie Keane could be involved in a sensational swap deal during the final week of the transfer window, according to a report in the Sunday Mirror.

The report suggests Harry Redknapp will return with a second offer for Parker after having an initial inquiry turned down earlier this month. Liverpool are also said to be monitoring Parker’s situation but the player would prefer to remain in London.

Despite the West Ham owners reluctance to sell, should Redknapp throw in Keane as part of the deal, the Hammers would have to look at the offer more seriously.

West Ham are on the look-out for a striker and with Keane well down the pecking order at White Hart Lane a swap deal could suit both parties. The only major stumbling block could be the West Ham would want around £5m as well as Keane and the players wages could also hamper any potential deal.

A swap deal maybe but to give them 5 million as well as Keane,i would want the whole team and stadium for that.

@col…it would be worth it just to get rid of Keane, he’s absolutely useless and is only going to disrupt our locker room.

A swap deal plus £5m is a swap deal. Parker is not worth £15m and neither is Keane. A realistic evaluation for Parker is £7m. Especially when rumours are abound that Lassana Diarra is being offered to Spurs for £8.5m – although I doubt it is that low.

Keane or/and Crouch to leave along with Jenas and bring in Shawcross from Stoke, Diarra from Real Madrid and a top quality out and out proven goalscorer. Then i think we really will challenge the Man U’s and Chelsea’s of this world. COME ON YOU SPURS.

    1. A club would not consider a bid unless they felt they could afford his wages.
    2. Keane is the same age and in around the same calibre player as Parker (different position granted) so I would doubt a massive difference in price tags. Str8 swap would be expected.
    3. It would be a last hoorah for Parker unless he wants to live in European football exile + Spurs are his boyhood team so transfer could be likely. Lets not forget though that Parker did refuse a transfer to Spurs the first time around simply because of wages and ended up at the Spammers (HES A MERCENARY).
