Chelsea Given Fresh Falcao Hope As Striker Denies Madrid Reports

Chelsea have been given fresh hope of being able to land Radamel Falcao after the Atletico Madrid striker denied reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid

With the January transfer window now open for business we’ll be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer gossip. Today, Chelsea are given fresh hope of landing Radamel Falcao.

Colombia Radamel Falcao

Chelsea have been given fresh hope of landing Radamel Falcao after the Atletico Madrid striker denied reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid, according to Sky Sports News.

Falcao is one of the most prolific strikers in world football and the report claims he’s been constantly linked with a move away from Atletico in recent transfer windows.

Sky Sports suggest Chelsea have been tracking the Colombian hitman for some time but it looked like they may be set to miss out after the 26-year-old and his agent were understood to have had dinner with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to discuss a move to the Bernabeu, while Atletico president Enrique Cerezo was quoted in the Mirror earlier this month as saying Falcao had already ‘signed something’ with Madrid.

The former Porto striker was also believed to have attended the recent Ballon d’Or presentation evening with Real star Cristiano Ronaldo, further intensifying rumours he could be set to quit the Atletico for their city rivals. However, Falcao has hit back at these reports claiming they’re all ‘lies’:

“Everything is a lie.”

“Lately there has been all kinds of reports about me,”

“All those that say I ate with Florentino are false. Neither is it true that I travelled with Cristiano Ronaldo to the Ballon d’Or gala.”

Falcao is quoted as saying by Sky Sports

So despite all the recent reports to the contrary, Falcao’s future seems far from decided. If Chelsea could lure the South American to Stamford Bridge they would surely have one of the most feared attacks in Europe. A front line consisting of Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Falcao could be devastating.

But a move is still far from a done deal and there will no doubt be plenty of competition if Atletico decide to cash in any time soon, but I would personally love to see Falcao in the Premier League next year.
