[Teams] Arsenal vs West Ham: Podolski & Ramsey Start

By  Published: 23rd January 2013

Arsenal play their game in hand tonight as they welcome West Ham to the Emirates looking to close the gap on the top-four.

We currently sit sixth in the table and seven points off fourth-placed Tottenham, so nothing but a win will do this evening if we’re to maintain our hopes of a top-four finish.

With Mikel Arteta, Francis Coquelin and Tomas Rosicky all out Arsene Wenger has decided to start Aaron Ramsey in midfield as Abou Diaby gets a rest after playing four games in a row.

Lukas Podolski returns after missing Sunday’s defeat to Chelsea with illness, while Oxlade-Chamberlain returns to the bench. Here are the confirmed line-ups:

Arsenal Team

Szczesny – Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs – Ramsey, Wilshere – Walcott, Cazorla, Podolski – Giroud

Subs: Mannone, Koscielny, Jenkinson, Santos, Frimpong, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arshavin

West Ham Team

Jaaskelainen, Demel, O’Brien, Reid, Tomkins, Noble, Taylor, Nolan, Collison, Vaz Te, C Cole.

Subs: Henderson, Potts, Diarra, Diame, O’Neil, J.Cole, Jarvis
