Internacional Open Door For Damiao To Join Tottenham

Internacional admit striker Leandro Damiao could yet move to Tottenham today but insist negotiations will have to be swift if they’re to get the deal done before tonight’s 11pm deadline, according to Sky Sports News.

With Emmanuel Adebayor away at the African Cup of Nations, Jermain Defoe is the only senior striker Andre Villas-Boas is currently able to call upon.

This has lead to reports claiming boss AVB will look to make a late move in the market to bring a striker to White Hart Lane. Sky Sports suggest 23-year-old Leandro Damiao is under serious consideration with his club Internacional understood to value him at around £20m.

The clubs President Giovanni Luigi insists the north Londoners are yet to table a bid but he has opened the door for the striker to move to Tottenham, but feels the negotiations will have to be conducted quickly if the deal is going to be concluded before tonight’s deadline.

“Leandro Damiao will only leave if there is a very quick negotiation, but no official offer has been made.” Luigi is quoted as saying by Sky Sports

Please please please sign Negredo, damiao, Moutinho and Alderweireld and if possible get Willian too! These players would guarantee top 3 place maybe top 2! This will also prove you are serious about taking the club to the next level! Get rid off all the fringe players, Huddlestone, Bentley, jenas etc maybe even Defoe and make way for quality players!

  Mate we’ve been trying to get rid of fringe players. It seems to me, some of them should have been released. We’ve been paying their wages which has cost us what? I’ve already stated that I’m no businessman but, it does seen to me we’re not going to make any money on them now. However, I may be wrong.

Don’t get me wrong if we bring in a prolific striker and more then I’ll be praising levy’s name but I doubt it, we won’t get anyone and we won’t get CL football next season! I just pray levy hears the pleas of tottenham fans!

I would be very happy if with signed either Damaio or Negredo. BUT we definitely do need to be getting either of these deals done very quickly as we only got 10 hours left. If one of these strikers aren’t done today then id say that’s our season over and we not getting top four, especially after last nights performance!!

Spurs are a very well run club,with an excellent Chairman and a very capable young Manager. We have a very talented squad of first team players, but we definitely do need to sign a couple of prolific goal-scorers up front to guarantee our place in the CL next season. I believe Leandro Damiao and Garry Hooper would both be terrific acquisitions for the club, and would put away many of the chances which are going begging at the moment.

We must be realistic. I have, an still do criticise DL, as in my opinion he is way too intransigent in negotiating for players, ours and other teams. However, that is my opinion. I am not a businessman. Nor do I understand how players in some leagues become owned by so many different parties. Negotiating for players like this is extremely difficult. So many interested parties, so many people to consult etc etc. Can you imagine DL negotiating with so many people at the last minute? All he has to do is disagree with one of their agents. Yes we need players. We need players like those mentioned. If it was that simple we’d have them already. As said, I will continue to be unhappy with DL at times. I would be extremely unsatisfied if we ended up like Leeds or Rangers etc. I could go on and on but, I urge you to consider all aspects of the club. I have only just learned to do this myself.
