[Teams] Newcastle vs Chelsea: Confirmed Line-ups

By  Published: 2nd February 2013

Chelsea take on Newcastle at St James’ Park this afternoon looking to get back to winning ways after another disappointing week for Rafa Benitez.

The Blues surrendered a 2-goal lead against Reading on Wednesday to draw 2-2 and all but end their slim title hopes for this season. Interim boss Rafa Benitez has come under fire once again so will be looking for a positive response from his players today.

The Spaniard has decided to recall striker Demba Ba in place of Fernando Torres while captain John Terry also starts alongside Gary Cahill at the back. Here are the confirmed line-ups for the game:

Krul; Debuchy, S.Taylor, Coloccini, Santon; Perch, Cabaye; Gouffran, Sissoko, Gutierrez; Cisse

Subs: Elliot, Yanga-Mbiwa, Bigirimana, Anita, Marveaux, Obertan, Shola Ameobi

Chelsea Team

Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole; Ramires, Lampard; Oscar, Mata, Bertrand; Ba.

Subs: Turnbull, Ferreira, Azpilicueta, Ake, Benayoun, Marin, Torres.

for goodness sake, BERTRAND AGAIN, I HOPE CHELSEA’S MANAGER WILL NOT HELP U TO DESTROY UR CAREER BEFORE IT EVEN STARTS…… is betrand better than moulouda, not to mention marin & torres, a defensive minded player, no wonder he wanders at the front.

    Aaahahahaha, chelsea are rubbish…
    They don’t deserve CL spot.
Won’t win another match all season.
Every single chels player on the pitch lacks heart and desire. All they deserve is relegation.
