Chelsea Reach Agreement To Land Chilean Starlet
Despite the transfer window now being closed there will still be plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Chelsea reach agreement to sign Cristian Cuevas.
Chilean youngster Cristian Cuevas has confirmed he’s set to join Chelsea in the summer with the Daily Star claiming the European champions will pay O’Higgins around £1.7m for the winger.
The exciting 17-year-old broke into the youth ranks of Chilean outfit O’Higgins in 2011 and forced his way into the senior team in 2012 after putting in some impressive performances on the left wing.
The Star claims Chelsea have been tracking his progress for over a year and it seems a deal has now been agreed between the two clubs with Cuevas confirming negotiations were resolved quickly and he’s now learning English to help him settle at Stamford Bridge when he makes the move at the end of the season.
“Everything went very quickly and was resolved within a week,”
“Chelsea have followed me for over a year and we finally reached an agreement.”
“I’m taking English classes to learn the language as quickly as possible. It will be a big change for me.” Cuevas is quoted as saying in the Daily Star
The Star suggest the west Londoners will pay around £1.7million for the starlet but are expected to immediately send him out on loan for next season in order to continue his development before he’s considered ready to fight for a place in the Chelsea first team.
