Reported Arsenal and Tottenham target Younes Belhanda has confirmed his desire to play in the Champions League and opened the door to a summer move to the Premier League by naming England as one of his preferred destinations, according to the Express.

The report claims Arsenal, Tottenham and Italian giants Inter Milan showed interest in the Moroccan international during the January transfer window but the player decided to see out the remainder of the season with current club Montpellier.

However, Belhanda has now given encouragement to the north London duo to reignite their interest in the summer by revealing his dream is to play in the Champions League before claiming clubs in England are among those he’d like to play for.

“My dream is to play for a Champions League club.

“I am a born competitor and in countries like England, Spain and Italy, there are big clubs that I would like to play one day.” Belhanda is quoted as saying by talkSPORT

The Express suggest Arsenal may be gearing up for a busy summer in the transfer market with boss Arsene Wenger believed to have up to £70m to spend on new signings, while Spurs could also have funds to spend if they manage to secure a top-four finish.

With Belhanda claiming Champions League football is a priority for him, any potential move to either Arsenal or Tottenham may hinge on the London duo qualifying for the competition. Tottenham are firmly in the driving seat to do so, currently sitting in third place in the Premier League table and four points ahead of fifth-placed Arsenal.

Belhanda would be an excellent signing for either club if they manage to pull it off and he would provide a real goal-threat from midfield, with the 23-year-old scoring 7 goals and laying on 4 assists in 18 league games for Montpellier so far this season.
