Liverpool Blow As Suarez Admits He’d Consider Bayern Munich Move

By on February 27, 2013

Despite the transfer window now being closed there will still be plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Luis Suarez casts doubt over his Liverpool future.

Luis Suarez Liverpool

Luis Suarez has cast doubt over his future at Anfield after revealing he would want to discuss a potential move to Bayern Munich if the German giants came calling in the summer, according to the Metro.

The report claims that Suarez has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern at the end of the season with manager-in-waiting Pep Guardiola said to want the Uruguayan hitman to lead his new-look side next season.

Suarez’s agent is none other than Pere Guardiola, Pep’s brother, and the Metro suggest the former Barcelona coach could use this relationship to manipulate a transfer and lure the 26-year-old striker to the Allianz Arena, and the Liverpool frontman has now fuelled the speculation further by admitting he would be willing to discuss a potential move should Bayern submit an official offer:

‘If Bayern Munich makes an offer I would certainly be willing to listen and think about it,’

‘It doesn’t mean I will definitely leave, it just means that I will not automatically reject other clubs.’ Suarez is quted as saying by the Metro

Suarez has been in superb form this season and is enjoying his most productive campaign since moving to Anfield from Ajax in 2011, scoring 26 goals in just 38 games in all competitions so far.

However, Brendan Rodgers men are well off the pace in their quest to secure Champions League football next season and currently sit eight in the Premier League table – a full 10 points off fourth-placed Chelsea – so you wouldn’t blame Suarez if he wanted to explore his options this summer.

Bayern Munich are fast becoming one of the most revered sides in Europe and with Guardiola at the helm it may be a difficult proposition for the striker to turn down should the German’s make a move this summer.

I think if he leaves it will be a step back for us. All we need now is another quality winger and some reinforcements at the back and we can make top 4. I hope he’ll wait it out for a few years, but I doubt he will.

There is no guarantee that Guardiola will be a success at Bayern Munich. He wouldn’t have Messi at his disposal. Messi was must of the time the difference in most of the games Guardiola managed while in charge at Barcelona. This time round, Guardiola will be on his own. I can see his appoinment ending in tears.

The media is always gona be making rumours about a player of suarez’s class but since this is quoted it seems legit. obviously any liverpool fan does not want to see suarez go. i cannot see him goin anywhere any time soon and if he does id be more shocked then when torres went to chelsea. it would certainly be a step backwards but if he does leave we get maximum value and we move on, simple as that. no player is bigger than the club! we will still be liverpool fc and get our champions league spot next season with or without him.suarez isnt our only good player but hes certainly the best at the moment.
