By on March 11, 2013

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand could face FA action after being involved in an off-the-ball clash with Chelsea striker Fernando Torres during their FA Cup quarter final draw at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Blues came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with United to force a replay and defender Ferdinand appeared to barge into Spanish forward Torres on purpose during the closing stages of the match. The FA are expected to wait for the match officials report before deciding what action to take, if any.

What do you think, does Ferdinand deserve to face action over this incident? Watch the video below and judge for yourself.

Mr. Ferdinand always has a lot to say about other incidents which do not concern himself and as previous captain of England he deserves the sternest action for his cowardly action in a game watched all over the world.

Rio Ferdinand must be ban Fø̲̣̣я̅ his stupidity. First made sarcastical applause on a ref after they lost to Madrid now is Torres. FA should not put sentiment on this, Rio must be ban.

This Rio incident was a repeat of Micheal Essien, hacked an opponent during one of Chelsea’s Champions League matches. The ref was unaware, but the whole screamed, and alas, Micheal Essien was fined and given 3match ban.
Rio Ferdinard is an hypocrite, fighting raicsm, but deliberately trying to injure fellow footballer, pretending to be assisting. He could have caused Torres long term ankle injury. He should be charged, fined given the 3 match ban, if found guilty. He is not a good role model.

I saw that live. It was premeditated and absolutely disgraceful. Ferdinand should have been sent off for that behavior especially as it was off the ball and behind the ref’s back. I don’t know what the linesmen and the other officials were doing. I agree, as it was off the ball and premeditated, and then he pulled Torres up as if Torres was acting. Absolutely disgusting. He really should get a four match ban and fined at least a couple of weeks wages.

Well since it’s a Man U player, Torres should be punished for doing “something” Ferdinand didn’t like. Deport Torres, and award Rio an MBE for fighting for his country!
