Tottenham edged into the quarter finals of the Europa League on the away goals rule after a thrilling clash with Inter Milan at the San Siro on Thursday night.

With Spurs heading into the game holding a commanding 3-0 lead, the Italians forced extra-time after scoring three unanswered goals during the 90 minutes – Cassano, Palacio and Gallas (O.G) making it 3-3 on aggregate. However, Adebayor got the all-important away goal for the Premier League side 6 minutes into extra-time when he poked home the rebound after Dembele’s shot was saved.

Inter ensured it was to be a nervy last 10 minutes when Alvarez headed home to make it 4-1 on the night, 4-4 on aggregate, meaning they needed just one more goal to qualify but Spurs held on to go through on the away goals rule. Watch the goals here:
