Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, could Alvaro Negredo finally be moving to London this summer?

Alvaro-Negredo

Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo has alerted Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham after once again admitting he wants to play in the Premier League, according to talkSPORT.

The 27-year-old hitman moved to Sevilla from Almería in 2009 and has been a huge hit at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, scoring 54 goals during his first three years at the club. He has continued his fine form in front of goal this season having scored 20 goals in 30 appearances so far this campaign, but it seems he thinks his future lies elsewhere.

talkSPORT claim that Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham were all linked with a move for Negredo during the January transfer window and the London trio may be interested to hear the striker reiterate his desire to move to England to play in the Premier League.

“I’ve always said it and I’ve never tried to keep it hidden,” he said. “The Premier League is a league that I like. I don’t know if it’s now, maybe a bit later, or tomorrow, but I will play there.” Negredo is quoted as saying by talkSPORT

Negredo also revealed that an unnamed club tabled an offer for him in January but Sevilla refused to do business. He continued:

“The president received an offer in January but he didn’t look at it,”

“They never said anything directly to me and it wasn’t time to leave. I don’t know what will happen in the future. It depends on what the club wants and what it needs.”

The Spanish international is currently away with the Spain squad preparing for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Finland and France and has a good case for starting given he’s the countries leading goal-scorer in La Liga this season.

But will he still be in his homeland next season, or will Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham reignite their reported interest and bring him to London? We’ll have to wait and see but if one of them do manage to sign Negredo they will be getting an excellent goal-scorer who I think will do well in the Premiership.
