Chelsea Willing To Pay Yaya Toure £22m To Make Bridge Move

Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Chelsea are linked with Yaya Toure.

Chelsea are interested in signing unsettled Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure this summer but may face stiff competition from Real Madrid, according to the Sun.

Toure has been a revelation at the Etihad Stadium since his move from Barcelona in 2010 and was a key factor in City pipping rivals Manchester United to the Premier League title last season.

However, the Sun claims the Ivorian international is ready to walk out on City this summer with the 29-year-old said to have informed officials at the club that he’ll buy himself out of the remaining two-years of his contract at a cost of £22m if he isn’t offered a new deal by this weekend.

The newspaper suggests that Chelsea have been alerted to the uncertainty over Toure’s future and are willing to offer him £22m as a signing on fee is he follows through with the quit threat, with the Blues understood to view the powerful midfielder as the ideal replacement for Frank Lampard.

But the European champions may face stiff competition from Real Madrid with the Sun claiming that Jose Mourinho is a huge fan of Toure’s and may be ready to offer him a return to La Liga.

It’s an interesting situation that may get complicated if City don’t put a contract extension on the table soon. Under FIFA rules, a player over the age of 28 can buy out their contracts if they aren’t offered a new deal after three years at the club.

Although if Toure does buy himself out of his contract it’s likely there will be a long list of clubs ready to join Chelsea and Madrid in showing an interest, as it’s not often a player of his quality becomes available for ‘free’.

This is just like trying to pass cow head through a pin point hole, Chelsea will only node their heads and robe their hands for failing to land him when he was available and admired chelsea a lot then but now he is city’s fans favourite and a hero, I don’t see him leaving city because city will try all they can to retain him and for sure he will stay though, I will be very grateful if he finally come to my beloved blues based in London, Yaya is a world class player a match winner and city’s heart beat, who wouldn’t want him Yaya? Its only Guarduela.
