Juventus Eye Manchester United Raid If They Fail To Land Suarez

Italians Juventus will turn to Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez if they fail to persuade Liverpool into selling No.1 target Luis Suarez this summer.

Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Juventus eye a raid on Manchester United if they fail to land Luis Suarez.

Juventus will turn to Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez if they fail to land No.1 target Luis Suarez this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims Juve coach Antonio Conte is keen to bring in another striker to play alongside Fernando Llorente – who has signed a pre-contract agreement to join the club on a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao this summer – and Liverpool hitman Suarez is believed to be the Italians top target.

The Uruguayan’s future has been questioned once again this week after quotes emerged from an interview in his homeland suggesting he would consider a move away from Anfield if the right offer come in:

‘I am very happy at Liverpool but you never know in football, If another team comes around with more prospects of competing in international club competition games, which is willing to have me, they are welcome.

‘We would talk to the club, we would see if I want to go, if I don’t want to go.’ Suarez is quoted as saying in the Express

However, Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre dismissed rumours suggesting Suarez could be leaving the club, reminding us that the striker recently signed a new four-year contract and insisted the players comments may have been misinterpreted.

‘You can read into the comments – it was given in his native language so I think maybe it was a bit lost in translation.

‘We’ve been consistent with Luis. Last summer he signed a new four-year contract and we have no desire to sell Luis. He is a fantastic player and a great contributor to our team.

‘We’ve been very honest with him and he’s been very honest with us.’ Ayre is quoted as saying by the Express

However, it may not stop Juventus from trying to lure the striker away from Merseyside this summer but if Liverpool resist their attempts it seems the Italians may turn to Manchester United in their striker search.

The Express report that the Serie A champions back-up option is United forward Javier Hernandez and suggest the Mexican may be open to a move in order to play more first team football after being forced to play second fiddle to Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney this season.
