Younes-Belhanda

Arsenal and Tottenham have been boosted in their pursuit of Younes Belhanda after Montpellier president Louis Nicollin confirmed the winger can leave this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The Moroccan ace has been in superb form in Ligue 1 over the past 2 years, scoring 19 goals in 46 games during that time, and it seems his impressive display’s haven’t gone unnoticed in the Premier League.

Sky Sports claim that Arsenal and Tottenham have been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old and were linked with a move during the January transfer window but a move failed to materialise and he was forced to remain at the Stade de la Mosson.

However, the duo have now been given encouragement to renew their interest at the end of the season with the French champions president, Louis Nicollin, revealing that along with left-back Henri Bedimo, Belhanda will be available for transfer this summer:

“Bedimo and Belhanda can leave. I am waiting for different offers.

“Apart from those two, we can keep the rest of the squad. Utaka can also leave, but he is expensive.” Nocollin is quoted as saying by Sky Sports

Will Arsenal and/or Tottenham resurrect their interest and lure Belhanda to north London this summer? Both could do with a playmaker of his quality and players in the French league are usually available at reasonable prices, so it’s certainly a possibility.

With the pair currently battling it out for a top-four finish, should they both move for the Moroccan this summer he may decide to opt for the club who can offer him Champions League football – given the importance players seem to give the competition these days.
