Arsenal Join Rivals In Scouting Man City Starlet

Arsenal have joined rivals Tottenham and Liverpool in scouting highly-rated Manchester City starlet Abdisalam Ibrahim, who’s been likened to Patrick Vieira.

Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal have joined the race to sign Manchester City’s Abdisalam Ibrahim.

Arsenal have joined rivals Tottenham and Liverpool in scouting highly-rated Manchester City starlet Abdisalam Ibrahim, according to the Express.

Ibrahim moved to City from Norwegian outfit Fjellhamar in 2010 and has emerged as one of their most promising youngsters, with boss Roberto Mancini likening the tall midfielder to Gunners legend Patrick Vieira in the past.

The Somali-born ace was sent out on loan to Strømsgodset in January for the second half of the season and the Express claims Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will send chief scout Steve Rowley to watch Ibrahim in the coming weeks, with scouts from Tottenham and Liverpool also understood to be making regular checks on the youngster this season.

The newspaper suggests Ibrahim’s contract runs out in 2014 and he could be persuaded to move elsewhere if his chances of first team football don’t improve at the Etihad Stadium, with Mancini preferring to go with house-hold names rather than up-and-coming youth prospects in his starting eleven.
