By on March 27, 2013

Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Chelsea are reported to have failed in a bid for Burak Yilmaz.

Burak Yilmaz

Chelsea have failed with a £21 million bid for Galatasaray’s in-form Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz, according to talkSPORT.

Yilmaz has been in sensational form so far this season and has scored 25 goals in 31 games for Galatasaray following his move from Trabzonspor last summer.

It seems his form has not gone unnoticed in England with talkSPORT claiming both Chelsea and Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on him this season and it appears that the Blues have made the first move to try and lure him to the Premier League this summer.

The report suggests that Galatasaray have rejected a £21 million offer for the 27-year-old from the west Londoners, with the Turkish giants understood to be holding out for £33m for the hitman, who still has three years to run on his current contract.

A striker could be high on Chelsea’s priority list this summer with Fernando Torres continuing to struggle in front of goal and Demba Ba only scoring 4 goals in 14 appearances following his January move from Newcastle, but it seems the Blues will have to dig deep if their to lure the free-scoring Yilmaz away from Turkey.

We need to focus on our young loan players, we have Lukaku and Ba. Why waste money on falcao and this guy to come end end up like torres and shevchenko? Chelsea is not a striker team, everybody can score, which makes it difficult for top strikers. You remember crespo and kezman too?

We don’t need players above 26. I don’t want falco, cavani or any oda striker more than 20mill euro. We have lukaku and ba. Torres sure is leaving. We piazon whom is doing well. What is the faith of our youth team. We have strong hungry boys, at the end of the day, they will not want to extend their contracts cos no chance for first team play. We don’t nid contrao. We have betrang, ashely and anihot. We also have chelobah why the wast of money pls..
