Arsenal & Tottenham Fans React On Twitter To Gareth Bale Injury

By on April 5, 2013

As we enter the business end of the season, Tottenham fans worst nightmare unravelled before their eyes on Thursday night as Gareth Bale was stretchered from the field in the dying second’s of their 2-2 draw with Basel at White Hart Lane.

The Welshman has been in stunning form for the majority of the season and with Spurs fighting rivals Arsenal and Chelsea for a top-four finish in the Premiership and looking to reach the semi-final’s of the Europa League, the last thing Andre Villas-Boas needed was his star man picking up an untimely injury.

As Bale went down clutching his ankle last night, Tottenham fans took to Twitter to understandably vent their frustration with some fearing the worst. Here’s a few ‘Tweets’ from Spurs fans:

However, while most neutrals and some Arsenal fans wished Bale a speedy recovery, there were some Gooners who couldn’t hide their delight that their fierce rivals season had taken a turn for the worse.

There was even the predictable ‘Monkey’ joke doing the rounds, with this picture posted on Twitter with the caption: “Spurs fans look on as Gareth Bale is stretchered from the pitch”

Bale is expected to have a scan on the injury on Friday but AVB was hopeful after the game that the problem won’t be as bad as first feared and even claimed the winger could be back to face Man City next weekend. I’m sure Tottenham fans would be delighted if that turns out to be the case. Arsenal fans….not so much!

On The Normal Ground,i’d Wish Him Back Immediately Because He’s The Man Of The Moment But As An Arsenal Fan It’s A Great News Because He’s A Harsh Rival.

Shut up you fool, if it wasn’t for bale your shitty team wouldn’t be anywhere near the lofty heights it’s currently experiencing. This is good preparation for you guys for the time when bale moves on. For gods sake we survived all last season without our best player (Wilshire) and we still beat your lot to the top four. Delusional spurs fans always thinking they are bigger than they are.

Same as you thought before you had the Lasagne and before Chelski robbed you of 4th place last year? Always an excuse. Wait til the end of the season before crying too much!

I wish him to come back very quickly.
it’s not good to be injured for anyone even if we are rivals.
I am an Arsenal Fan and of course I want my club to be in the CL next season, but I don’t like people having fun of people’s problems.

Oh God, a fellow Moroccan Gooner, “wellah a khouya ta 7na 9lal fhad leblad”.
I agree with you that Bale’s injury is unfortunate, but every team has to deal with this kind of events … Bale’s injury is a terrible news for Totts as he was their talisman (they are not called FC Bale for nothing) and their morale should be low now.
Also, so many times we had our best players sidelined for extended periods and we had to deal with the mocks of rivals, so sweeeet revenge, it is ^^

Every totnum fans are genuinely scared cause they are a one man team, and that team is out injured, in the past we bemoaned injuries as excuse for not winning the TITLE while you’re using same for 4TH PLACE, what a little club. Anyways we should celebrate st. Totteringhams day before the final day of the season

Tough on GB getting injured, but the flip side at least is that Spurs can see what their season will be like next year when he’s off playing for a bigger team- like Arsenal maybe.
    No more excuses…

I really do have sympathy for 5pud2 and Gareth bale but all the sympathy disapeared when the 5pud2 fans start singing “Bale stand up cuz ramsey can’t” that’s completely disrespectful to the hardworking whelshman considering what he’s gone through and after that stoke thug smashed his leg. Where was bale when ramsey was tearing scotland a new one in the qualifiers? Quickest recovery by august monkey boy.

It is ridiculous that we are happy a player of our rival is injured so that we will beat them to the first four spot. Can’t believe that Arsenal is waiting for dead men’s shoes. Why couldn’t we fight for the first position in the league?

Poor Bale thought it was power shifting from emirates to white hart lane, sorry GB, it is an injury shifting. Quick recovery anyway. Does AVB still think of spurs being upward spiral and Arsenal on the decline? Still reserving my comments until spurs played Everton, Chelsea and Mancity.
