Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Borussia Dortmund table bid for Kevin De Bruyne.

Kevin-De-Bruyne

German giants Borussia Dortmund have submitted a £14.5m offer for Chelsea’s on loan winger Kevin De Bruyne, according to talkSPORT.

De Bruyne joined Chelsea in January 2012 from Genk but stayed with the Belgian outfit for the remainder of the season before completing his move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

However, the 21-year-old was immediately shipped out on a season-long loan to Werder Bremen and has been a huge success in Germany this campaign, scoring six goals and providing 9 assists in his 29 league games so far.

It seems his impressive form has attracted interest from fellow Bundesliga sides with talkSPORT claiming reigning champions Borussia Dortmund have jumped ahead of Bayer Leverkusen in the race to land this highly-talented winger.

The report suggests Dortmund have tabled a £14.5m offer for De Bruyne in a bid to keep him in Germany but it’s thought that Chelsea are unsure whether to sell him on a permanent basis or take up Leverkusen’s offer to take him on  loan next season.

Given the obvious talent De Bruyne has in his locker, it would be a surprise to see Chelsea sell the Belgian international without giving him a chance to prove himself at Stamford Bridge. He hasn’t even made a first team appearance for the club and personally I think he’s done enough to return to west London and challenge for a first team place next season, but we’ll have to wait and see what the club have in store for the youngster.

I think Roman should keep Kevin De Bruyne rather than replace him with Schurrle.
