Chelsea are expected to meet with officials from Bayern Leverkusen in the coming days to finally seal the £20m signing of Andre Schurrle with the German forward expected to sign a five-year deal, according to the Telegraph.

The report claims the Blues have been tracking the 22-year-old for some time and saw bids of £16m and £18m rejected by Leverkusen last summer as the German club stood firm in keeping hold of their star man.

However, it seems their stance may now have softened with the Telegraph suggesting the Bundesliga outfit are finally ready to sell and a £20m deal is close to being agreed, with Schurrle set to sign a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

The newspaper believes that Leverkusen may try and ask for Kevin De Bruyne to be included in any deal but Chelsea will push for a straight cash transfer as they’re yet to decide on the future of the Belgian winger.

Schurrle is a versatile attacker who can play as a central striker or in the wide areas of a 4-2-3-1 formation, so he will provide the European champions with plenty of options in the final third if and when he completes his move to west London.
