Michel Vorm has admitted linking up with Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool would be ‘special’ and claims he’ll leave Swansea if the opportunity to join a ‘top club’ presents itself, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims Liverpool have been linked with a move for Vorm this season with Reds boss Rodgers keen to be reunited with the talented Dutch goalkeeper after managing him during his time at the Liberty Stadium.

It appears the feeling is mutual after the 29-year-old admitted that linking up with the Northern Irishman at Anfield would be ‘special’ but hinted that unless Pepe Reina is sold, he can’t see a move to Liverpool happening.

‘A reunion with Rodgers would be special. The collaboration was very good last season. But for now Pepe Reina is Liverpool’s first goalkeeper, and it is not an issue.’ Vorm is quoted as saying in the Mail

Rodgers signed Vorm from FC Utrecht when he was in charge at Swansea last year and turned him into one of the most consistent keepers in the Premier League.

The Dutch international stopper has seen his season disrupted by a series of niggling injuries but has still impressed between the sticks when he has played leading to more speculation that he could be on the move at the end of the season.

The player went on to admit that he’s aware of the rumours regarding his future but insists he’ll only leave the Swans for a ‘top club in England or abroad’:

‘My name is often mentioned in relation to other clubs. It’s all speculation, but they come from somewhere. I wonder what the goalkeeper carousel trigger will bring, but I will swap Swansea only for a real top club in England or abroad.’ Vorm is quoted as saying in the Mail
