Liverpool & Man Utd Face Fight To Land Colombian Hitman

Liverpool and Manchester United will face a fight to land Jackson Martinez after Turkish giants Galatasaray joined the hunt for the 26-year-old Porto hitman.

Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Liverpool and Man Utd will face a fight to land Jackson Martinez.

Liverpool and Manchester United will face a fight to land Jackson Martinez after Turkish giants Galatasaray joined the hunt for the Porto hitman, according to talkSPORT.

Martinez has emerged as one of Europe’s most deadly strikers after netting an incredible 31 goals in just 33 games for Porto during his debut season following his move from Mexican outfit Jaguares last summer.

It seems his impressive form hasn’t gone unnoticed in the Premier League with talkSPORT claiming Liverpool and Manchester United were showing an interest in the Colombian hitman.

However, it seems the duo will face stiff competition for the 26-year-old’s signature with the report suggesting free-spending Galatasaray have joined the race while mega-rich Russian outfit Anzhi are also said to be keeping tabs on him.

Galatasaray have recently been able to show more adventure in the transfer market due to generous tax tariffs for high-earners in Turkey, and were able to lure Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder to Turkey in the January transfer window.

According to talkSPORT, Gala are now ready to steal a march on Liverpool and United by opening the bidding for Martinez at £37.5m but it’s unclear whether the Premiership duo would be willing to meet such a figure.
