Mourinho Promised £100m Chelsea Spending Spree With Falcao & Fellaini Among Top Targets
Jose Mourinho will be handed a £100m transfer kitty if and when he makes the move back to Stamford Bridge this summer with Radamel Falcao, Andre Schurrle and Marouane Fellaini his top targets, according to the Mirror.
The ‘Special One’ took a step closer to leaving Real Madrid last night after they were knocked out of the Champions League 4-3 on aggregate by Borussia Dortmund, despite a thrilling 2-0 second leg win at the Bernabeu.
After the game, Mourinho made the biggest hint yet that he’s about to return to west London after saying he may not be at Madrid next season as people in Spain ‘hate’ him and he want’s to be at a club where he’s loved.
The 50-year-old went on to claim he’s loved in England – especially by one club in particular – and I think we all know which club he was talking about. When asked if he would be at Madrid next year, Mourinho said:
‘Maybe not… I want to be where people love me.’
‘I know in England I’m loved. I’m loved by the fans, I’m loved by the media that treats me in a fair way, criticising me but giving me credit when I deserve it.
‘I know I’m loved by some clubs, especially one, and in Spain, the situation is a bit different because some people hate me. Many of you are in this room.’ Mourinho is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail
The Mirror claim Blues owner Roman Abramovich is ready to show him the love he craves by not only bringing him back to Stamford Bridge as manager, but also handing him a £100m transfer budget to rebuild the squad with.
The report suggests £50m will be splashed on Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, £20m on Andre Schurrle while a bid in excess of £20m may also go in for long-term target Marouane Fellaini. To make room for the new recruits and to stay in line with FIFA’s new Financial Fair Play regulations, the newspaper claims Fernando Torres will head the exodus with the likes of Frank Lampard also expected to leave the club.
