Jose Mourinho wants to bring Cristiano Ronaldo with him to Stamford Bridge this summer as Roman Abramovich prepares to sanction a £100m spending spree, but Manchester United have first option to buy the Portuguese superstar if Real Madrid decide to cash in, according to the Daily Mail.

Ronaldo opened the scoring in Friday nights Copa Del Rey final before being sent off as Madrid crashed to a 2-1 defeat to local rivals Atletico Madrid, while Mourinho also sent to the stands after clashing with the fourth official on the touchline.

It turns out this could be the final game at Real for both player and manager with the Mail claiming Mourinho is destined to return to Chelsea as their new manager this summer and Ronaldo appears to be at the centre of a tug-of-war between Man Utd and the Blues.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed another stunning year in front of goal – scoring 55 goals in 55 games – but his future at the Bernabeu has been shrouded in mystery this season after a series of in-house bust ups and talk of the player stalling on a new contract.

The newspaper suggests that United have first option to buy-back the forward should Madrid decide to cash-in and it’s understood Ronaldo would favour a move back to Old Trafford four years after leaving for Spain.

However, the report claims new Europa League champions Chelsea are set to spend big again this summer with Roman Abramovich ready to hand his new boss £100m for new signings and Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Edinson Cavani are all believed to be top targets for Mourinho.

It’s highly unlikely all three will end up at Stamford Bridge, but signing just one of those top strikers would turn the west Londoners back into serious title contenders next season – especially if Mourinho is back in the hot seat.
