Barcelona Starlet Set For Loan Move?

With the summer transfer window set to open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest Arsenal transfer rumours. Today, Gerard Deulofeu could be set for a loan move to England.

Barcelona starlet Gerard Deulofeu could be set for a loan move to the Premier League with Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton all interested, according to the Daily Star.

The 19-year-old is one of the most promising youngsters at the Nou Camp but his chances of first team football next season look limited, particularly following the arrival of Brazilian sensation Neymar, and a short-term move away looks likely this summer in order for him to gain more first team action.

It seems Deulofeu’s potential availability has alerted a whole host of clubs in England with the Star claiming that Arsenal are ‘in pole position’ but face stiff competition from the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Everton who are also keen on snapping up the youngster.

The versatile attacker can play out wide or through the middle and while he was only able to manage four appearances for the first team last season, he did score 18 goals in 33 games for the Barca B team.

Chiefs at the Catalans are confident the youngster has a future at the club so are unwilling to consider letting him leave on a permanent basis, but a season long loan deal would suit all parties and it appears he’s got plenty of interest from England if he fancies trying his lucky in the Premier League.

Deulofeu’s future is expected to be resolved when he returns from international duty with Spain at the Under-20 World Cup, lets hope we see him on these shores next season as he’s certainly an exciting talent.
