Are These 3 Players Next To Leave Arsenal This Summer?

With Arsenal confirming Francis Coquelin and Johan Djourou have left the club on loan, ‘Gunner333’ looks at where Chamakh, Santos and Park could be next to go.

With Arsenal confirming Francis Coquelin and Johan Djourou have left the club on loan, ‘Gunner333’ looks at 3 players who could be next.

Andre Santos Arsenal

I have mainly spoken in recent weeks about the players who Wenger should be recruiting. Surely though, there is also a need for us to undertake a Summer clear out as well. We have many players in our ranks being paid to sit on the bench, if that. Several have already left, but here I highlight the main players I believe should depart North London along with Coquelin and Djourou, who were loaned out to Bundesliga clubs on Friday.

M. Chamakh

Despite the fact I would be pleased to see this man leave the Emirates, I cannot help but feel sympathy for the Moroccan striker. After he joined from Boardeaux in 2010 he started off scoring goals frequently but when RVP returned from his injury, Chamakh fell out of favour and has struggled to find form or playing time since. He is on a fairly decent wage and rarely plays anything more than 20 minutes every now and then. He clearly doesn’t have a future at the club so news of his possible departure to Levante comes as a pleasant thought for some Gooners. Let’s hope he’s off the wage bill soon.

Park Chu-Young

The South Korean international has played only once since his arrival from Monaco two years ago and was loaned out at Celta Vigo last campaign. Although it may be harsh to suggest he should leave considering he has had no game time, it is clear that he has no future at Arsenal. He is currently 27 years of age and still has not been given the chance to break in to the first eleven. It’s surely paramount that we purchase players who Wenger will actually use rather than paying players like Park for nothing. Let’s get rid of him asap and bring in a striker who will contribute.

Andre Santos

This Brazillian flop has always struggled to be the fans favourite and with Monreal signing from Malaga in January, he has now fallen to third-choice left back. Both Monreal and Gibbs top Andre in all departments and the sooner he is sold, the better. It is unlikely we can cash in on Santos due to his poor performances so a release or even just another loan should be considered an option.
