Chelsea have confirmed that Dutch starlet Marco van Ginkel has completed his move from Vitesse Arnham after passing a medical and signing a five-year contract.

The Blues revealed on Thursday that they had agreed terms with Vitesse for the 20-year-old, with newspapers suggesting the Europa League winners would pay around £8m for the youngsters services, and all that remained was for the player to undergo his medical and agree personal terms.

Just 24 hours later the club have now confirmed on their official website that van Ginkel has completed his medical examination and signed a five-year deal. Upon completing the move, he told Chelseafc.com that he’s delighted to have joined ‘such a nice club’:

‘I’m very happy to be here at such a nice club with great players. I am really happy, the stadium is good and the training ground is fantastic.

‘I know about all the players and will meet them on Monday. I expect a lot, I’ve watched matches and it’s really nice to be here.’

Van Ginkel came through the Vitesse youth system before breaking into the first team aged just 17, and went on to make 111 appearances for the Dutch outfit – scoring an impressive 52 goals from midfield. The highly-rated youngster enjoyed a superb season with Vitesse last year, scoring 24 goals in 41 games to help his tea to a surprise fourth place finish in the Eredivisie, with his display’s earning him the Young Player of the Year Award.

He’s certainly a huge talent and hopefully he can make an impact at Stamford Bridge next season.

As one of the chelsea fans, I will like to urge Jose Mourinho to stop buying star into the team, make use of the players in the club, the play very well to win 2012 Champion League with many star nd Europe league follows 2013 without any star. Let the boys play their game. Only Chelsea is buying much players this coming season.
