Chelsea & Tottenham Set To Be Snubbed By ‘New Gareth Bale’

By on July 6, 2013

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Luke Shaw is set to sign a new deal at Southampton.

Luke Shaw

Highly-rated defender Luke Shaw is set to snub interest from Chelsea and Tottenham and commit his long-term future to Southampton, according to the Sun.

The left-back has emerged as one of England’s hottest young talents after a superb debut season in the Premier League with the Saints – earning himself a reputation as the ‘new Gareth Bale’.

Not only did Shaw come through the same Southampton youth set-up as Bale, but he also display’s many of the same characteristics that the Welshman had when he first come on to the scene, with his attack-minded approach from left-back causing opposition teams all sorts of problems last year.

The Sun claim the 17-year-old has attracted interest from Chelsea and Tottenham with both London giants keen on luring him from St Mary’s this summer. However, the England Under-21 star looks set to disappoint the duo with the newspaper suggesting he’s set to sign a new five-year deal worth £25,000-a-week when he turns 18 next week.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino reiterated his desire to hold on to Shaw and claims his top players want to remain with the club this summer.

“We have total confidence in keeping all our valuable players.

“They believe in this project and want to stay here.” Pochettino is quoted as saying by the Sun

It will be a huge decision by Shaw to snub the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham but perhaps he thinks his chances of first team football are greater with the Saints, and if so, you’d have to admire his mature attitude for one so young. Not many youngsters these days would turn down a big money move to one of the league tops clubs.

You sir are retarded! What sort of young up and coming football player would want to join the “project at Chelsea” look at the great players that have had to leave because they couldn’t get first team football, Scott Sinclair had an incredible couple of seasons with Swansea, Lukaku, had to go on loan to West Brom just to get a game, despite being lightyears better than the inept Torres in front of goal, Gael Kakuta, what on earth has happened to him? Jack cork a promising young midfielder left for saints, why? Because he couldn’t get a game, Kevin de Bruyne had to go abroad to get a game. Ryan Bertrand, who has been on the periphery of the Chelsea first team spends time on the bench despite a declining in performances of the phone smuggler. So yeah, why don’t you join Chelsea Luke Shaw? I’m sure you’ll be an exception to the trend at Chelsea football club. Who knows, they may even let you go back to Southampton on loan!!!! Oh yeah, I almost forgot. You can’t spell mate. Go back to school. It will stand you in better stead in social situations.

The wisest decision for him is to spend a season more at saint to garner premier league experience before a switch to stamford bridge where he can be guarante an immediate medal, he just has to wait for jm to arrange his team and see if betrand wil be 32 yrs old cole replacement or not as we are replacing d aged squad legend.

Dont ever make the same mistake like bale and walcott who are yet to show a medal reward for their on-pitch performances.
