Arsenal Eye £8m Bid For Bayern Munich Midfielder

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are linked with Luiz Gustavo.

Arsenal are lining up an £8million bid for Bayern Munich defensive midfielder Luiz Gustavo, according to the Metro.

The report claims boss Arsene Wenger is looking to press ahead with plans to bring in some big name signings this summer and as well as targetting strikers such Luis Suarez and Gonzalo Higuain, the Frenchman is believed to be keen on strengthening his midfield with a defensive-minded ball-winner understood to be a key area of concern.

The Metro suggest Wenger’s prime target is Munich’s utility man Gustovo, with the German champions said to be ready to cash in following the signing of Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona, and we’re now lining up an £8m bid to try and lure the 25-year-old Brazilian international to the Premier League.

I’ve been a huge fan of Gustavo’s for some time and I think he’d be an excellent addition to the squad. His versatility would be a huge asset but his primary position would be to shield the back four – an area we’ve needed to strengthen since selling Alex Song last summer.

The Metro claim we could face competition from Wolfsburg and Corinthians for his signature, but it’s though the midfielder is keen to remain in Europe and preferably play for a side in the Champions League, so Arsenal should have a good chance of being able to snap him up if we end up making a formal move.

Gustavo still has two years left on his Bayern contract and while this report suggests we’re ready to offer £8m, I think Munich may hold out for more, but I’d pay up to £15m for him as I really do think he could make a huge impact at the Emirates.

Wenger’s background as an Economist is the problem. He is too stingy to be a successful manager. Always misses his major deals by 1 or 2M pounds. Hiquian is the latest to join the long list. He is lying to himself, always pricing as he is buying groundnut. Arsenal for life.

mr. Wenger u are so stupid. Since transfer window open u dont sign any player. While other club have been sign four or more players. U are the the club for eight years without wining anything. Can u count how many cup chelsea have won since that eight years. U so stingy all fight for fourth place every season, instead of wining trophy.

I appreciated the departure of rvp as he claimed the ambitions of the club didnot meet his ambition.this is what is supposed to be done by gunner players to leave the club and go to enjoy football that aimed at trophy with other clubs some where.

Luis Gustavo joining Arsenal? Excuse me!Arsene is drunk on his Wenger-nomics and won’t dig into his ‘darling profits’ to sign any recognizable big name players. It is nauseating that ailing Arsenal FC is plotting to dish out a new contract to this ‘dick-head’ of a manager. And Wenger and his co ‘dick-heads’ like Ivan Gazidis are hell-bent on extending the septic rot at Arsenal beyond an eight empty years! Ouch! Stench, stench! Yuck,ck,ck,ck,ck…….

You all spoke/comment well but remember all you read is paper rumor. What Arsenal FC need is good/quality players not big names.
So let Mr. Wenger do is job.
