Chelsea are confident of landing Wayne Rooney for £30m but expect the deal to be delayed until the final days of the transfer window because of the Blues clash with Manchester United on August 26th, according to the Mirror.

After seeing an opening £20m bid rejected last week reports over the weekend suggested Chelsea were ready to up their offer to £40m in a bid to force United into a sale. However, the Mirror claim Roman Abramovich will sanction a new offer of just £24m this week with the view of eventually agreeing a deal worth in the region of £30m for the unsettled forward.

The newspaper suggests the Blues are confident it’s only a matter of time until Rooney moves to Stamford Bridge but are resigned to have to wait until the final few days of the transfer window because of their clash with United at Old Trafford on August 26th.

The thinking is that new boss David Moyes will refuse to sanction any move before that date as he wont want his first home game in charge to be overshadowed by the return of Rooney to Old Trafford, and they will also not want their former player to come back and haunt them so soon after leaving.

The report claims Chelsea feel the champions have no option but to sell the 27-year-old after he went public over his disillusionment at the club and they are prepared to wait to get their man.

Chelsea conducting their business in the press as usual. If the fat one wants to leave he’ll need to hand in a transfer request something he’s apparently reluctant to do as he wants a cut of any transfer fee. It seems that United hold all the cards with the World Cup next summer the fat one won’t have time to sulk to force through a move he needs to be playing. Stand firm United and make the fat one grovel.

Rooney is far too old, far too expensive, far too demanding, far too aggressive, far too fat and as a matter of fact far too red for Chelsea. I wont have the pleasure to sea him blue because he will never be blue. Rather, Yilzman is cheaper, younger, and easier to handle coz he will not disorganize our peaceful camp.

Its pointless trying to keep an unsettled player. I think its high time Man U looks for Rooney’s replacement and let him join Chelsea.
