Man Utd Prepare Final £34m Fabregas Bid Despite Hands Off Warning From Barca

Manchester United will table a final £34m offer for Cesc Fabregas despite Barcelona writing to the champions to issue a hands off warning, according to reports

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Manchester United will table a final £34m offer for Cesc Fabregas.

Manchester United will table a final £34m offer for Cesc Fabregas despite Barcelona writing to the champions to issue a hands off warning, according to the Mirror.

The report claims United have already seen two bids rejected by the Catalans for Fabregas and the second £30m offer was knocked back on Monday with president Sandro Rosell writing to the Old Trafford club to insist the midfielder was not for sale as he was a “key part of our plans”.

However, it seems this has not deterred David Moyes and the new United boss is determined to give it one last shot, and the Mirror claim he will go back in with a final £34m bid to try and persuade the La Liga champions into cashing in.

If successful, the deal would break United’s club record of £30.75m they paid Tottenham for Dimitar Berbatov back in 2008.

Moyes confirmed his interest in Fabregas at a press conference over the weekend but hinted there would come a point where he’d have to concede defeat, but insists he’ll do all he can to bring the former Arsenal captain to Manchester:

“A point does come but when you are interested in good players you want to give it every opportunity to materialise.

“And I’ll do that. I’ll hope things can continue to try to move forward.” Moyes is quopted as saying by the Mirror

It’s likely that Barca will once again reject United’s offer though which could force Moyes into looking at other targets, with the newspaper suggesting he may turn to Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye or Real Madrid’s Luka Modric.

The champions pursuit of Fabregas has been a strange one as they seem to have been fighting a loosing battle from the start. All signs have been pointing to the midfielder staying at the Nou Camp with both former boss Tito Vilanova and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger claiming Fabregas had told them personally he had no desire to leave this summer.

The only way the 26-year-old would move is if he was forced out and with Barcelona writing to United to tell them he’s not for sale, you have to question the logic of submitting another bid. Even if it was accepted, Arsenal still have first refusal to buy him back and you’d think due to his affiliation with the club, he would favour a move back to North London rather than Manchester, so perhaps it’s best Moyes moves on to a more realistic target.
