Suarez Believes Liverpool Have To Accept Arsenal’s Bid After Missing Out On Top 4

By on July 25, 2013

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, more on the future of Luis Suarez.

Luis Suarez Liverpool

Luis Suarez believes that Liverpool are duty-bound to accept Arsenal’s £40,000,001 bid due to the complex clause in the strikers contract, according to the Independent

The Gunners submitted the unusual offer on Tuesday and Liverpool once again rejected it out-of-hand, insisting it still doesn’t meet their valuation of the player.

However, the Independent claim that Suarez has been left mystified by the rejection as he and his agent, Pere Guardiola, believe the much talked about clause in his contract means the Merseysiders HAVE to accept any bid over £40m after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League last season. The newspaper suggests that lawyers could now be called in to scrutinise the exact wording of the strikers contract and settle the dispute.

The 26-year-old is expected to inform boss Brendan Rodgers today that he wants to hold official talks with the Gunners and is keen to secure a move, and the north Londoners believe their latest offer entitles them to speak with the player.

But Liverpool’s take on things is very different. Rodgers was asked today if the clause merely entitled Suarez to be told of any bid above £40m, to which he replied:

“Absolutely, there is nothing more than that.” Rodgers was quoted as saying in the Telegraph

This saga is shaping up to get very messy indeed and Arsenal fans will no doubt be hoping that Arsene Wenger knows what he’s doing and is confident he can land Suarez after seeing Gonzalo Higuain move a step closer to sealing his move to Napoli after completing his medical on Wednesday.

The worry for Arsenal of course will be that Real Madrid now use the money generated from the sale of Higuain to launch a move for Suarez, so you’d expect the Londoners to want a quick resolution before that happens.

Liverpool could have been giving him what he wants if it hadn’t been for his antics that put refs backs up and cost us matches. He’s right the press and football officials did have it in for him but that wasn’t Liverpool’s fault, we just suffered because of it.

I don’t agree with you that the press & officials have got it in for him, I believe that is down to his own bad antics on the pitch but he is still a brilliant player.
Personally as an Arsenal supporter I would of preferred us to of got Higuain, great striker without the baggage.

Guess you’re just a bit slow on the uptake Brian. Try it this way and see if it sinks in…

The press and refs have got it in for Suarez because of his racist, aggressive and generally unacceptable behaviour. That has cost Liverpool matches rightly or wrongly because Suarez has lost them the benefit of the doubt.

Decisions which are anything less than black and white go against him when they would go for other players and that has cost Liverpool points.

That is because he’s widely regarded as a cheat whose word it worth nothing and also because he lacks honour.

Drop us a line to let us know when you’ve figured it out and if you’re happy at having such a player at Arsenal.

Money aside what makes Wenger think he can influence Suarez and calm him down?
He is obviously a `win at all costs` type of person. If you calm him down and take away his natural aggresion you take away his effectiveness. It`s a double edged sword.

Bill. (not the idiot above) You are an idiot though. In the first instance for trolling someone who had a perfectly valid point. Secondly for the bias shown towards your club and Suarez which indicates you are one of those bitter LFC fans. I’m an Arsenal supporter and whilst I welcome his ability he is the biggest cheat I have ever seen. The majority of AFC fans of any intelligence will probably be indifferent at best to his POTENTIAL signing.

Well…..well…well,Suarez is a fantastic striker indeed, but the greatest fear is that,Arsenal are unlikely to meet up Liverpool selling price for a player that given 10match banned. I believe Real Madrid can offer that. Good morning all gunners fans and have a pleasant day ahead

I really want Saurez out now. I’ve had enough , the guy is just a prat as good as he is. You didn’t mind signing the contract when you joined Saurez which guaranteed you your wages throughout that period even when your injured or suspended which was quite often the case .We stuck by you but now you throw it back in our faces. Oh and by the way it’s the media that made you decide to leave us so that would mean you have to lesve England surely ??? Your s prat and we need to replace you soon as and let you be someone else’s problem but your worth at least what chelsea payed for Torres so that’s the price 50 mill. Oh and when you leave you can pay us back the wages we payed you for your last 4 matches plus the 6 for the racial abbuse to and maybe next time you sign a contract just make it a year at a time just in case you want to leave again you prat

Mate I’m an arsenal supporter and I feel your pain, look at van P last year we nursed his sick ass for how long just to see him walk away as soon as he was fit. They say I’m leaving for a chance to win things but if they stay and fight they could win. It’s all about money plain and simple. I think luis is a fantastic footballer but a complete and utter tosser of a guy I’d rather see him go to real with the other tossers. If arsenal believe his buy put clause is 40+ mil which I think they do judging by what pere guardiola is saying then I can’t see why you or Any pool fan can be annoyed at my club they are meeting what they think is the clause. All your anger should be directed at the player and if the clause has been mistakingly f€&ked up then angry at your club. For my part I’ll be angry at arsenal for letting higuin go and for potentially buying a talented footballer who is a complete arsehole.

I dnt knw why i hav fools and illiterates commenting and fighting on repetiton and edicted news we hav even heard b4 Suarez met Liv’pool for the Austrialian friendly. They (Press) want ur time and money and they sike u fans. They assume that this wil be the palyer’s stance after he 1) has expressed his willingness to join a champ. League club. And 2) after Arsenal hav taken their last strngth to bid £41,000000 for the player. Calm down dudes. Suarez and the camp did not say anything. Where is the direct report if he did?…….Note: Suarez does not want to submit request, Madrid wants bale and can not afford the 2 at a time. I promise u this…..Arsenal wil never hav incoming of a potential striker this summer. Can’t u read the writings on the wall. Be smart instead of hopeful and sentimental. Huh!

Imo as a gooner through n through suarez is a great striker n would bring alot to the arsenal team, taking pressure off r other players so they can cause even more trouble for the opposition, scoring more goals at arsenal then he did at liverfool because of the football we play we’ve needed a out n out striker we had traitor persie for 1 quality season n thats what we missed last season. But n its a big but if wenger can sort his cheating dirty animal side to him out I mean biting n diving every to seconds then he would be great I dont mean aggression coz I love that in a player but no need to bite n shit like that. if he cant truth be told I would rather take my chances on another great striker loads of them out there

As a Liverpool fan it hurts to see a player of Luis’s quality leave us and the way in which he is trying to leave the club is not only unprofessional and disrespectful, but as some Arsenal fans have said they can’t be held responsible for there club attempting to buy a good player all be it with a unstable personality. I personally don’t want to see him join another Premier league team but it’s happened to Arsenal and to us, Money is everything in the modern game sadly. If he leaves it will hurt but I’d rather have someone who is happy being at Liverpool than a player who will do anything to leave.

Sure whatever you say, I’m just saying it the way I see it, I hope he stays he is a great player and we are a better team with him in it but if he leaves for Arsenal I personally believe the finger of blame should be pointed at the blokes up stairs at Liverpool, don’t sell to a team you hope to be in com

At the end of the day all Suarez’s transfers have been controversial, including his move to Anfield so Liverpool fans shouldn’t complain. As an Arsenal fan the thought of having a player of his quality upfront excites me because its what we lack. I personally think Suarez is a fukwit & I never saw us going for him. I feel sorry for Liverpool fans because he has not really respected his club or played with honour. I see this deal going through but not without getting messy & not for 50mil. I just hope that buck tooth donkey knuckles down after his ban & does what we are going to pay him to do & that’s score goals minus the baggage. Wenger will have more money to spend & if he gets it right Arsenal will be a very strong side next season. Liverpool fans should not be upset about him leaving look at how Arsenal have progressed without their star players & LFC will be better for it. He actually hasn’t done anything for your club.

Rooney and Suarez are 2 born winners and about time Arsenal stopped pretending to challenge and actually did so. While I wouldn’t want these 2 as mates I would want them in my team, although biting people and shagging grannies should be kept to a minimal and off company premises.

It’s a choice : either we’re also rans once again or we’re challenging for the top once again. No guarantees either way.

    July 25, 2013 at 3:20 pm

I believe this is what will happen. Arsenal will stay firm and will not improve the £40 m offer. Arsenal don’t need to buy him until the last day of the transfer window because Suarez can’t play first six matches of the new season. Liverpool would not want to keep an unhappy player. They would rather like sell him in good time and buy a replacement who can start the season from match day one. So they would like to get maximum money for him. As the transfer deadline approaches, they would panic because they need this money to buy replacement and there wouldn’t be much time left to get a new striker. Also selling club will see Liverpool’s desperation and will demand more money. Even if Arsenal offers £50 m on the last day of the transfer window, Liverpool will be worse off because they can’t use this money then.
Therefore, a time will come when Liverpool will decide to sell Suarez for £40m and use this money in good time to strengthen their squad. That will be the best for both clubs.

One thing is sure, or do I say unnegotiable, suarez must not be sold to any EPL club, even Hull city. His case is quite different from RVP’s case backs there’s still three years left on a mutually agreed contract between him and LFC. So I’ll rather he rot on bench for at least a season, than him going to strengthen a direct rival. Henceforth, I suggest saying “YOU ARE A suarez” has the same grammatical meaning as ” you are an INGRATE”

All Arsenal fans are disgrace to me. Is it not that same man u cursed u wil never want cos of his antics. Now he becomes the best. I am so hapi cos u all are giving him confidence to continue what he does best. When season comes, suares wil give Arsenal fans heartbreaks. H & A. Remember not to criticise him. Cos liverpool are not in need of any money. If we want to buy we wil. Suarez is not a fish, and wil not be sold. Lolzzz
