Javier Hernandez

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Tottenham have joined Liverpool in showing an interest in Tiago Llori while Valencia are interested in Man Utd striker Javier Hernandez.

Spurs join Llori chase

First up and the Daily Mail are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur have joined Liverpool in expressing an interest in Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Llori.

The report claims that Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is looking to bring in another central defender this summer due to concerns over the long-term fitness of Younes Kaboul while Jan Vertonghen has also been sidelined with a knee injury picked up last week while on the clubs pre-season tour of Asia, and the north Londoners are understood to have cast an eye over Sporting Lisbon’s highly-rated defender Llori.

The 20-year-old broke into Lisbon’s first team last season and has been hotly tipped as one for the future. Liverpool were strongly linked with a move earlier in the summer and the Mail claim he’s valued at around £8m by his club.

Valencia eye Hernandez

Next up and the Daily Mail again are reporting that Valencia are keen on signing Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez on a season long loan deal.

The cash-strapped La Liga club are on the verge of selling striker Roberto Soldado to Tottenham for £26m but with crippling debts, they wont be able to reinvest the money back into the squad. Instead they’re going to have to look at the loan market and the Mail suggest the are going to approach United to see if they can take Chicharito on loan for a season.

The Mexican struggled for regular game-time last season with Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney the first choice front men, but with continued doubts over the future of Rooney it’s unlikely David Moyes will be letting Hernandez leave any time soon. Particularly on loan.
