Gareth Bale has rocked Tottenham by formally telling boss Andre Villas-Boas that he wants to leave the club and join Real Madrid this summer, according to talkSPORT.

The Spaniards have been public with their desire to land the PFA Player of the Year this summer but Spurs have remained determined to hang on to their star man, with Levy and boss Andre Villas-Boas insisting Bale wasn’t for sale at any price.

Bale returned to training today after being given extra time off following the clubs pre-season tour of Asia and talkSPORT claim the 24-year-old held talks with boss Andre Villas-Boas where he formally asked to leave to join Real Madrid.

The former Southampton-mans request could now see Spurs soften their stance and enter negotiations with the Spanish giants. Reports in this mornings papers suggested Madrid were prepared to break the world transfer record in order to land the Welshman and Spurs may find that kind of offer hard to refuse now the player has confirmed his desire to leave.

While there has been no indication that Bale will submit a formal transfer request, no manager wants to keep hold of an unhappy player and if Tottenham are going to get in the region of £80m for him, it would make sense for them to cash in now and rebuild with the money the get in return.

To say no manager wants to keep an unhappy player.

What rubbish journalism. Spurs are training Bale is in with the physio. No media are even in the complex. Talk about making stuff up ! Terrible. Skysports have been camped outside all day and nothing. Talksport oh my word a more terrible source.

Get rid- get the money inn ASAP so we can get a few more players inn before the season starts and put some money into new stadium! Bigger stadium, bigger money, bigger players! Bale isn’t the be all and end all of Tottenham hotspur! He needs to remember, who made him as a player and that it’s only really been this season where he has shone, will he be as bigger player in the real squad doubt it!

TalkSport claims? Blah, blah, blah. This is getting boring. If Bale wants out, then he should publicly say so. If RM are serious about so much in cash, they should show us the money!
They still haven’t paid for Modric!

Wow! That article is the biggest load of BS … “Bale asks to leave the club but won’t make a formal transfer request.”
Who writes this stuff? Getting paid to lie, just like politicians and hack journalists. No morals at all. Not a shred of decency. Just lies and more lies.

The article says “..there has been no indication that Bale will submit a formal transfer request”. Right, so Bale has not ‘formally’ asked or told AVB anything, rather he has had a conversation with him (it is alleged) which is ‘informal’.

All as informal as agents for Real Madrid in the mass media, that club not having put in any formal transfer bid to Spurs for Bale. So, Bale has made no ‘formal’ request to leave and Real Madrid have made no ‘formal’ offer.
